Undergraduate:
Cornell University - Neurobiology and Behavioral/Computational Biology
Mentor: Rotating
Research Project Description:
As a rotating student, I hope to combine circuit-level, behavioral, and computational approaches to perturb specific circuits in rodent and primate disease models, and observe how these manipulations affect behavior. I am particularly interested in using targeted neuromodulation and circuit-based interventions to restore disrupted functions, bridging the gap between animal models and human conditions, and contributing to the development of therapies for neuropsychiatric disorders.
Why did I choose NUIN for my studies?
NUIN stood out as the most special interview experience. Faculty and students are so passionate about their research; I can feel how much effort they put into their talks to make them engaging. Beyond academics, we talked about pets, food, concerts, and art—they know every corner of Chicago and how to enjoy it. Their well-rounded love for science, NUIN, and life is unparalleled, and I hope to become one of them.
